Q?

It’s a lot of money to pay for something I may never need…

A.

As you can imagine, it is incredibly expensive owning, maintaining and staffing a 24/7 emergency ambulance service. Evangelismos Medical Emergencies staff work for a fraction of the money they would receive in the UK and are totally committed to providing this essential, often life saving service. Compared with other expenses such as pool maintenance at around €80 per month, we believe €20 per month for peace of mind and expert care in the event of an emergency (for your entire household) is extremely good value for money. By subscribing, you are not only protecting yourself and your family, you are also contributing to the service as a whole and helping keep the service running and as cost effective as possible.

Q?

Do I need private ambulance cover?

A.

This is a personal choice for you, your family and/or your business. Despite best efforts, state ambulances do not always have trained medical staff on board and have to travel from Paphos in an emergency. They may not have English-speaking staff available and in most cases will have difficulties locating your property. Evangelismos Medical Emergencies has dealt with those shortcomings and its paramedics are devoted to provide the best pre-hospital patient care.

Q?

Does the service cover everyone at my address including visitors?

A.

Yes. Coverage is per household and includes all members of your family plus any holidaying visitors residing temporarily at your home (providing you have informed Evangelismos Medical Emergencies of any visitors staying and provided a little medical information on your guests in case of an emergency call out). Subscriptions do not include tenants when you rent out your property (either short or long term). Separate cover can be arranged for these circumstances.

Q?

What happens if I need an ambulance and I am not a subscriber?

A.

You are welcome to call Evangelismos Medical Emergencies which will be chargeable at our regular rates, however, you will have the option of subscribing.

Q?

Do Evangelismos Medical Emergencies crews have access to our Medical Records?

A.

If you are a registered patient at Evangelismos Hospital, they will make relevant parts of your medical records available to Evangelismos Medical Emergencies to save you filling in another medical questionnaire (subject to your approval). Evangelismos Medical Emergencies will require additional medical information for any members of your household that are not registered, though.

Q?

Can I claim for your ambulance service on my private medical insurance?

A.

All insurance policies differ and you should always read the small print. It is unlikely your insurance will cover your subscription fee to Evangelismos Medical Emergencies, however, in the event of an emergency call out, Evangelismos Medical Emergencies can provide a patient report form and other documentation that you may be able to use to claim on your medical insurance.

Q?

Is Evangelismos Medical Emergencies linked with any particular hospital or clinic?

A.

Evangelismos Medical Emergencies Services has been working alliances with various hospitals and clinics , however, when needed, you will always be taken to the hospital or clinic of your choice (state or private) unless your life is at risk at which point you will be taken to the nearest hospital that can offer the best life saving treatment.
